Thiruvasagam by Illayaraja

Getting released today. Yesterday, I had a chance to see this curtain raiser in SS. Rather would say that watching Illayaraja explain the details during its composition and recording in Budapest was a great experience.

Illayaraja claims that he was born to do this. Illayaraja was very direct in his speech and few times he was sort of struggling for the right words to explain his feelings. The programme included short
clippings on other music directors' speeches and his childhood friends also. AR Rahman, Bharathiraja, P Suseela to name a few. There was an incident the Maestro explained. He had written the notes
in such way that the words were different but their sounds were the same. In the beginning of the recording, it made the performers in the Orchestra feel that they were playing the same words again and again. He explains to them by singing the whole song (Hope I have understood the correct way how the Maestro explained)

This is why I miss Chennai badly. Chennai has so many things in arts and movies, nowadays that I feel like kicking myself to have shifted out of Chennai.
